In our first year in South Africa we had a lot of work to do with regards to setting up our company. We offered holiday homes, apartments, guesthouses and hotels at this point. The following year we had a breakthrough when Ritztrade International started focussing on the tourism business and the guide kapstadt was born! We had staff from seven different countries involved in the design of our brand new travel guide.
By visiting various regions in South Africa, such as the Garden Route or Kruger National Park, we have been successful in organising tours for our customers. Often they started from Cape Town and ended in the Kruger National Park. This work resulted in the creation of an organisation for safaris in South Africa. Later, safaris to southern Africa developed, followed by hiking safaris to Kilimanjaro and live abroads to Mozambique. We packaged cheap safaris for campers with unbeatably low prices and later delved into luxury safaris which were designed by us primarily to satisfy the comfort seeking high-end customer.
The following years flew by quickly. We had our ups and downs with the global economic crisis and rising gas prices which resulted in slowed business for a bit, but the 2010 World Cup came to our rescue and gave us our newly found momentum! With it the World Cup brought increased amounts of tourists from all over the world, right to South Africa and our business.
In February 2012 we started to prepare the relaunch of kapstadt.org and with almost a year of processing time, the new site went online in January 2013, bringing us to where we are today.

We would like to continue managing the company in the travel industry with motivated employees. It is important that new ideas arise continuously that benefit our customers! This includes a strong focus on reviews of the accommodations from our customers, which must meet our quality standards.
Our time in South Africa has not been easy. The clocks in Africa tick differently than in Europe. However, once you have recognised this, you’ll get along well. The people are friendly and nice, although a watchful eye is part of our daily business. Dates are not always respected or they can take place an hour later – that’s just Africa!
Our team will continue to contribute to the culture of friendliness and relaxation with which we treat each other in the company, and the customers will always receive professional and courteous advise from us.
