The Full Peninsula Helicopter Flight in Cape Town is a city sightseeing tour flying along the Atlantic coast of South Africa. We first start off in the direction of Hout Bay where you will be greeted by the Twelve Apostles as you fly past Sea Point and Camps Bay.
The helicopter tour continues along the famous Chapman’s Peak Drive which is the setting for many movies and adverts due to its beautiful coastal scenery. At the end of the pass, Nordhoek awaits you wit a beach that seems to go on forever.
Only a few minutes later, we are about to reach the Cape of Good Hope as well as Cape Point which will provide incredible photo opportunities from our bird eye’s view. With its diverse habitat, ranging from rocky mountain tops to beaches and open sea, the Cape of Good Hope is home to at least 250 species of birds including a colony of African penguins.
We make our way back past Fish Hoek and Simon’s Town which are two of the most popular coastal towns in Cape Town known for its fishing industry as well as the penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach. Once you reach Muizenberg, you will be able to view one of the best surf spots from the sky while the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden is not far away either.
On the home stretch, you will have one last chance to take one of the most incredible photos of Table Mountain as well as the city of Cape Town. Not everyone has the chance to see the Mother City from this unique angle high up in the sky.

We begin our helicopter tour to the Cape of Good Hope along the Atlantic Seaboard. Here we fly past Sea Point, Camps Bay as well as Llandadnu via the Twelve Apostles on our way to Hout Bay. As we reach Hout Bay, we will fly over Duiker Island which is also know as Seal Island by the locals. If you have a keen eye, you will see seals hunting in the ocean and if you are very lucky you might even encounter a shark. With so much bird-life and sea creatures on show, this makes for a wonderful photo opportunity.
Chapman’s Peak Drive is known all around the world. If the mountain pass is not used for car adverts or movie scenes, it is one of the most popular tourist attraction in Cape Town. From the helicopter, you have a unique view of the majestic mountains that lead all the way to Noordhoek. In this part of Cape Town, you’ll immediately notice a beach that seems to stretch on forever and it’s one of the most beautiful beaches in Cape Town. From up top, you will also see quite a few shipwrecks that this beach has consumed.
As we begin to turn back, we’ll fly past Simon’s Town & Fish Hoek – two of Cape Town’s most famous coastal towns. Along with the local fishing industry, you’ll also find a colony of penguins on Boulder Beach which you can view from your seat. As we continue, you will see the locals ride the waves at Muizenberg is one of the best surf spots in Cape Town.
The Cape of Good Hope is arguably the main attraction of this helicopter tour. With the oceans crashing into the cliffs and the sea-breeze in the air, it’s a magnificent sight to behold. From the helicopter, you have the perfect vantage point that not many others are able to enjoy. Experience the beauty of nature in action.
Constantia is known for being the first wine region of South Africa located in the southern suburbs of Cape Town on the slopes of Table Mountain. The wine estates located in this area all offer fantastic wine tasting experiences, as well as restaurants that create dishes to delight your senses. If that’s not enough, the incredible views you will enjoy from here are worth coming back over and over again.
On your helicopter tour, you will also fly over the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens which are world renowned. Located at the back of Table Mountain, this area receives quite a bit of rain which allows for a variety of different trees and flowers to thrive.
On your way back into the city, you will have the most incredible view of Table Mountain as you begin you descend to the airfield. Make sure to have your camera ready to shoot that perfect postcard image to send back to family and friends. From the sky, you will also be able to see the dynamic city centre with people rushing to their next meeting, street vendors wanting to sell their goods while students and tourists walk around enjoying the sun.
